Never Too Late - Rika's Story
Oct 01, 2025
In one of my dreams, I always wanted to play the piano.
As a child, my parents gave us a small piano and the chance to learn, but I didn’t take the opportunity. I had some basic music lessons in grades 7–9 where I learned to read notes and rhythm, and I’d sometimes play two-finger melodies on my parents’ piano — but eventually, I forgot all about it.
After I got married and moved to Australia, I didn’t touch a piano again.
Then one day, a family relative asked if she could store her old historic baby grand piano at our house because she didn’t have enough room. When the piano arrived early this year, I started thinking, Wouldn’t it be nice if someone could play it?
I began searching for an online piano course on YouTube for a month. Most promised things like, “Play the piano in two weeks!” or offered free chords and “easy” songs for beginners. I nearly got ripped off by one of them. After that, I stopped trusting online courses altogether.
I paused my search for a while — until one day my husband found Kristina Lee’s YouTube channel. He said, “Here it is. I think you’ll like her as your piano teacher.” (He has a sixth sense!)
After watching Kristina’s first video, I was so impressed. She said, “It’s impossible to learn and play the piano properly in two weeks,” and she was the only teacher on YouTube saying that — no bluffing!
I went straight to the Live Love Piano website and enrolled in the Simple & Beautiful Piano course. The cost of the course was also a bargain. My gut feeling told me this was my chance to make my dream come true.
I joined Kristina’s piano course early this year and have never regretted it. I enjoy learning the basic theory and love playing every single piece Kristina has included.
This course is perfect for me because I can log in anytime, on my own schedule. Even after a hectic day, sitting at the piano feels comforting.
Thank you, Kristina, for being not only a good teacher but also a kind friend. I never thought I’d be able to play the piano in my 50s — until I met you.
It truly is “never too late.”
