Absolutely not! This course is designed for true beginners. I will start from the very beginning and take you step by step. I will not throw musical jargon at you but use everyday lingo to help you understand. All you need is a willingness to learn.

This course represents a culmination of my experience of my work as a coach and a performer and my passion for teaching beginners. I have come to love teaching beginners because of both the excitement of introducing the world of music and the challenge of it. For a while, I acquired every beginner method I could get my hands on and tried them out over many years on many students. Every method has its pros and cons. In this course I have refined and compiled the best of the tried and true methods. Some of the differences you will notice are:

• You'll incorporate good piano technique right away and in an effortless way
• You'll learn beautiful, simple pieces you'll enjoy playing for yourself and others, specifically composed by me for this course
• You'll experience creating your own music on the piano 
• You'll not only get the information on how to read music, but also get targeted exercises to practice your reading
• You'll be able to practice with practice videos
• You'll get guidance on how and what to practice

Everyone has different learning styles and learning strengths and weaknesses, so I can't guarantee that this is the right course for you. However, I've observed that many online piano courses are often not suitable for beginner pianists because the pace is often not right. Because I have taught hundreds of beginner students of all ages with diverse learning dispositions, I have a first-hand knowledge of what beginner students need in terms of time, verbal direction and cues, need for clarification, and repetition. My in-person teaching experience will be adapted to this course, but better because we will not be under time pressure. So give it a try. If you find that it still doesn't work for you, you can request for a refund within 30 days. 

If it's been a while since you touched the piano, this is a great way to reintroduce yourself to this beautiful instrument. If you're someone who values fundamentals and feel that you might have missed out or feel that they were never introduced to you methodically, I recommend trying out this course. Also, you may never have learned to improvise in your piano lessons and this course can introduce you to creating your own music through improvisation. 

The course is created with an adult student in mind. However, it would be fine and appropriate for a teenager who has maturity with the ability to follow verbal directions well to try out this course. 

You can have anything from a digital piano (keyboard) to an acoustic piano. If you have a digital piano, having a full-size (88 keys) weighted keyboard would be ideal. If you don't have that, start with whatever you have and upgrade only if you feel that that's the right move for you. Make sure your keyboard has a sustain pedal (either built-in or plugged in) because you will start using the sustain pedal right away. 

The course is self-paced, so you can take as long as you need. If you practice regularly and diligently, you may feel comfortable with all the material in this course in three to four months. If you take more a leisurely pace, it may take you six to twelve months. Don't worry about how fast you go through this. With the first watercolor course I took, Watercolors Made Simple by Nicki Traikos, I took over one year to go through it because I wanted to take my time and I wanted to enjoy the process.
